Qualifications & Expectations:

• Demonstrate the ability to teach the technical and strategic aspects of basketball.
• Plan, organize, and lead practices and competitions with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, discipline, and health & safety.
• Commit to year-round program development, including organizing and supervising offseason workouts, skill development sessions, and strength/conditioning opportunities in accordance with school policies.
• Support and help develop the youth basketball program, creating alignment between youth, middle school, and high school levels to build a strong, sustainable pipeline.
• Establish and communicate a clear program philosophy that emphasizes character, accountability, and long-term athlete development.
• Promote academic excellence by monitoring student-athlete progress, supporting eligibility requirements, and encouraging success in the classroom.
• Effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and fellow coaches.
• Exhibit and promote high ethical standards and serve as a positive role model for all athletes.
• Collaborate with other coaches and school personnel to support multi-sport athletes and overall student success.
• Oversee program administration, including management of equipment, uniforms, inventory, scheduling coordination, and adherence to school, district, and state athletic policies.
• Engage with and promote the program within the community by building positive relationships, organizing camps or clinics, supporting fundraising efforts, and increasing program visibility.
• Prior experience coaching basketball and working with high school student-athletes is preferred
