Welcome to Love's:  The Product Owner will be responsible for teaming with developers, designers, business analysts and quality assurance analysts to create, develop and launch customer-facing mobile application features, specifically for new initiative features and user authentication methods. The ideal candidate is both creative and technically adept with a strong career interest in digital media and mobile technology innovation. 

  • The Product Owner supports Product leadership to ensure the timely delivery of projects that meet established feature, usability, content and quality requirements. Daily responsibilities include overseeing the creation of product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, schedules and supporting materials in partnership with design, content, technology, social, marketing and 3rd-party vendor teams. This product management position provides enterprise experience working with established agile development and user experience design/research teams. The Product Owner will be supported with one-on-one product coaching and training experiences.
  • The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-fly. The position requires interaction with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Candidates must possess the ability and willingness to balance consumer needs with business priorities and articulate the rationale behind decisions. 

 

Jon Functions:

  • Thorough knowledge of prevailing and emerging mobile trends and technologies

  • Ability to analyze and incorporate emerging technology/APIs to better serve business and customer needs 

  • Solution oriented, highly motivated and proactive self-starter

  • Strong grasp of information architecture and mobile user experience best practices 

  • Understanding of mobile app QA and production release best practices

  • Familiarity with mobile user account authentication and validation

  • Experience coordinating with multiple integrated systems

  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with diverse personalities

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities

  • Understand agile project management principles and best practices

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills 

  • Serve as an ambassador for customer experience and end-user for mobile delivery 

  • Apply knowledge of mobile OS and SDKs to drive the requirements and shape the device experience. 

  • Create a highly engaging mobile application and device experience 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop features that improve user experience, and support content, marketing, social integration, application best practices and standards 

  • Define requirements via stakeholder interviews, business drivers, competitive analysis & industry research 

  • Develop product documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, wireframes, site maps, process flows etc. 

  • Track and gather approved assets from multiple sources and deliver to project leads 

  • Facilitate communication across all project phases and proactively alert leadership of changes to scope, timelines, resources and vendor management issues 

  • Ensure proper integration and scalability of shared systems, products and tools 

  • Manage and navigate the priorities of engineering, design, content and marketing while balancing resourcing and other constraints to arrive at an effective and timely solution 

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product/Brand Management, Marketing, Business/MIS, Advertising, Design, Computer Science or related field 

  • Possesses working knowledge of subject matter to support mobile app development 

  • Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • 2 to 5 years of marketing, product management, UX or IT experience 

 

Skills and Physical Demands:

  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts 

  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines 

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping 

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds 

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator 

  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
