About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant / Administrative Support professional to join our law firm focused on criminal and civil litigation in Hingham, Massachusetts. This part-time, on-site position will provide both administrative and legal support to attorneys in a collaborative office environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong typing and organizational skills, professionalism in client interactions, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Prior law firm experience and familiarity with legal procedures are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide administrative support to attorneys
· Assist with drafting, formatting, and preparing legal documents
· Transcribe dictation and prepare accurate written correspondence and filings
· Answer telephone calls, take messages, and communicate professionally with clients and court personnel
· File documents with courts and relevant agencies
· Manage calendars, appointments, and important deadlines
· Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
· Assist with general office operations, including scanning, copying, mail, and email management
· Prepare client billing using legal billing software
· Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all aspects of work
Qualifications
· Prior law firm experience preferred (3+ years)
· Knowledge of legal procedures and legal document preparation
· Excellent typing, proofreading, and organizational skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
