We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. Summary

The Director of Wellness is responsible for overseeing all wellness operations at Juniper Preserve, including spa, fitness, wellness programming, retail, and guest experiences. This leadership role focuses on delivering exceptional luxury service, developing innovative wellness offerings & programing, driving financial performance, and leading a high-performing team that aligns with the resort’s overall guest experience and brand standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee all wellness operations including spa, fitness, wellness programming, retreat programing, retail, and related guest experiences.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop wellness team members including managers, therapists, instructors, attendants, and support staff.
  • Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, payroll, coaching, and performance management within the department.
  • Maintain Forbes-level luxury service standards and ensure exceptional guest experiences across all wellness touchpoints.
  • Develop and implement departmental SOPs, training materials, and service standards.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership to align wellness initiatives with overall resort goals and guest experience strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, safety, and licensing requirements.

Programming & Guest Experience

  • Develop innovative wellness programming including fitness classes, recovery offerings, retreats, seasonal experiences, and special events.
  • Curate wellness experiences that reflect the Juniper Preserve brand and Central Oregon lifestyle.
  • Evaluate guest feedback and operational data to continuously improve offerings and service quality.
  • Build relationships with local wellness practitioners, vendors, and community partners to enhance resort programming.
  • Support VIP guests, group wellness experiences, and membership-related wellness initiatives as needed.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Responsible for departmental budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense control.
  • Monitor and improve departmental profitability, revenue performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage inventory, retail performance, ordering, and cost controls within wellness outlets.
  • Analyze financial reports, KPIs, and guest satisfaction metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Partner with internal partners, such as Sales & Marketing teams to promote wellness offerings, retreats, and resort experiences.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the club, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.
  • Maintains positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the resort

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in luxury spa, wellness, or resort operations.
  • Previous experience managing teams within a luxury hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with a strong degree of initiative and the capacity to develop and implement critical project milestones.
  • Must be highly organized, with the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities and maintain an attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of wellness trends, spa operations, fitness programming, and luxury guest service standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll systems, inventory management, and forecasting.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as business levels require.

Skills

Required

  • Previous experience developing Wellness initiatives, preferably within a hotel/resort setting.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Google platform applications.
